Welcome to Togo!

We departed from Ghana this morning and arrived in Togo late this afternoon.  It was a very short sail.  Unfortunately I had to work today, so i didn't get to see as much of the sail as i would have liked.  But that is ok.  I woke up the ship rolling back and forth and thought "i love sailing!".  It really is fun.  Sometimes the roll of the ship helps you walk up stairs, and sometimes it rolls the wrong way and walking up stairs is like climbing a mountain.  I'm very glad I got to see dolphins and whales on the last sail though.
I believe I've said before that the gurkahs love to cook during the sail.  Even though this was a short sail, they all went into the crew galley and whipped up some famous gurkah food.  It was so spicy!!! They made me eat so much of it...my belly was a hurtin'.  It was absolutely delicious!  They came and found me a couple times though and gave me more to eat. I didn't eat lunch in the dinning room because i ate to much spicy gurkah food.  Thank you gurkahs for cooking!

My first sight of Togo (top of the picture there is land...it's difficult to see though because it was quite foggy)  This is a picture taken from the International Lounge.  It overlooks the bow (pretty cool angle cuz you can see the guys working, the Africa Mercy name and the water). love it!

The pilot boat.  A pilot who works for the countries port comes on board out ship and guides us through the waters of the harbor.

Welcome to Togo everyone!
